Hi, I am purchasing a set of Staggered 20 inch wheels for my car. I have a 2007 M35 (rwd). The ones I want to get are KMC KM701 Machined with Black. My question is regarding offset. The 2 websites I am looking into say that they will fit. But after reading here it looks some are using higher offsets.Wheels:KMC KM701Front is a depth 8.5 with 38 Offset Back is a depth 10 with 38 Offset. (highest offset they offer)Tires:245/35/20 and 275/30/20Lowering Springs:Tein H-tech which states 1.2 in in the front and 0.5 in the back lower.

Thank you for your help.

The fronts are fine but the rears are going to stick out a little bit.

Figure this, a 9.5 inch wheel with +43mm of offset will yield a result of being just about even with the wheelwells. In fact, I do get a little tire shine on the body with this offset.

So a lower offset of 5mm (.2 inches) will bring the wheel further to the outside of the wheelwell. Add another 6mm further out due to half of the additional width of the wheel(1/2 inch divided by 2).

So, the wheel will stick out about 10mm. Not good.

Skim35: Thank you for the reply. What wheels do you have? And what are there offset?

07SportM35: thanks for the reply. I was afraid they might stick out a bit and then I won't be able to lower the back either. I am contemplating other wheels, but I really liked these KMC clasy look. The wheel place said something about rolling the fender back or something? I don't know if that is wise or costs either. I thought I have seen your car with Vosseen but i see you have EXE.

You are correct I did have vossens at one point. They stuck out in the rears by about 6mm. The size was 10.5" wide with a +45mm offset if I remember.

Varianza T1S Black chrome 9x20, 10x20 if I remember correctly the front are 35 and rear are 30, but I have a 10mm spacer in the front and a 5mm spacer in the rear. When my car is at stock hight the wheels stick out quite a bit I'd say almost 2 inches but my coilovers lowers the car very low about 3inches so my tires tuck under the fenders and I get that slightly aggressive flush look, VIP look. Hope this helps...

Mike, thanks for the reply. I appreciate it. I was about to start calling places to roll my fenders. I am going this afternoon to try the KMC rims I want to see how they will fit with the 38 offset. I will also bring up the fact that they are already rolled and if spacers will help. Hopefully the measurements that their computer tells them doesn't have into consideration the extra space because they are rolled already. That will mean it will let me lower the 0.5" on the back. I don't know of another brand of springs that will lower the back less than that. The other wheels I have as a plan B are the TSW Caldwell Machined. I will post pics once the wheels are on. I have never posted pics of my ride here so I am excited. I don't think I ever got the welcome to the forum post either. ha ha.

I will answer the "spacer" question. Spacers lower your offset meaning a 10mm spacer will take +38mm and make it +28mm.

So no spacers. They will make matters worse.

Update: I went to the wheel place to try the KMC 20x10 on the rear. They do stick out too much outside of the well with the 38 offset. Other wheels I liked were 40 offset, so 2 mm would not do the trick. I can't afford the $3k + in wheels at the moment for 2 piece wheels or adjustable offsets. I decided to go all around 20x8.5. I will lower them with Eibach springs. I will post pictures when done. Should be in 1 week or so. I went with 255/35/20 tires. Goodyear F1 Assymetric. Thanks for your help!

Yep. People ought not talk who don't know what they are talking about.

The good news is that your ride quality and noise levels will be better with a 8.5 inch wide wheel. Ideally the offset will be about +40mm--A nice compromise between looks and scrub radius. No less than +35mm and no more than +45mm.

You will also be able to rotate from front to back. Post pics when you get them on.

Good luck!

Yeah the rear offset will still be 38 but with the 8.5. I am not sure if the fronts will be 38 or 35. But I am sure on the fronts that I will be ok. I knew from your posting that it would stick out, but I wanted to picture it to see if it will look bad or not. Finding a good price wheel staggered look with our offsets seemed to be a nightmare. I even looked at EXE like yours and the 5 spoke one but nope.I don't know how Skim could have 35 on the back as offset + 10mm spacer. I will sure post pics and show the rest of my car off ! Thanks for your help.

His car is REALLY dropped. The lower you go-the lower the offset can be if you go with negative camber. Negative camber allows the wheels to "tuck".

Take a close look. He has a lot of negative camber.

FYI, you don't want to have the front 35 and the rear 38, because then the front will stick out more than the rear, which is a big no-no!

You don't want a higher offset on the rears than the fronts. Go the other way around if anything. I say let them be the same unless you're varying the wheel width. That way you can rotate.

Guys, sorry. Yes, 38 all around. What I meant was that I am not sure if 38 or 35 all around. But they will be the same. Thank you for the heads up.

Hi guys. I installed my wheels yesterday. I am dropping it tomorrow with Eibach. I am not totally in love with the wheels. It sucks because a lot of money is in them for me not to be 100% satisfied. I will post some pics this weekend lowered to see if I like it more.

lowering looks good but in my opinion it ruins tied rods and stabilizer bar linkage arms.

Pics of the rear wheel before lowering. Some pics have flash so it looks different. I just feel that the gap in the front and read (not the upper gap) looks big. I see the Konkaves at 19' and they look bigger than these 20". I am just being too picky? The color of the wheels is machined with black.

Thanks...I don't like chrome though. This one is a Machined with Black.

Thanks 07Sportm35.

My next mod will be the led on top of the headlight were it makes a line. I saw it here from another member, As well as the Nav Hack and the rear aero lip to finish the look. So far I am loving my car.

You should add some spacers, too.

To the back? Its barely inside the well. A spacer will put them out more risking rubbin if I have someone on the back. Right?

Do you guys think I should paint the grill black and leave only the Infiniti logo without ?
