Whats' up Gentlemen,

I have a dilemma on my hands right about now. I'm currently running 22x8.5 +38mm w/255/30/22's all the way around and thinking about downsizing to a 20x9 +32mm offset w/245/40/20's all the way around. I know that the 20 is the same wheel + tire size as the OEM stock 20's except for the offset, offset on OEM is 43mm. I'm lowered on Eibach's right now and love the look of the 22's but with a 30 side sidewall there's really not much protection and the ride is sort of harsh, especially on any bumps or uneven surfaces. I've also had to take my wheels to a machine shop to fix a bent wheel 3 times since I've owned them (2012). Going with the lower sized 20's with a thicker side wall on the tires I'm thinking will provide a more comfortable ride and give more protection. Are there any other benefits which I would get by going to 20's over the 22's that I haven't mentioned? I'm also Uprev'd and putting out 312 rwhp, by going to the 20's do you guys think I would gain any noticeable performance? Thanks! :gotme

You *might* pick up some extra grip from the 20" wheels with 40 series tires but I would recommend going with 255 or 265 instead of the OEM 245. I've been thinking about similar issue; was thinking about 21" with 35 series but IDK. Offset wise if you want flush or almost flush the offset should be between +18 to +23 depending on wheel width and tires.

think you answered your own question... 40 series > 30 series (I'm running 245/40/20 up front on 10" widths)
