Sup Guys...

Im about to spend a good amount of money on some mods for the G...

For one, I'm thinking about getting 20's on the ride. What do you think about that? Do you think its better to stick with 19's or go for the 20's?

I'll probably buy a new exhaust system pretty soon as well and I'm leaning toward an HKS kit. Good choice?

I'm not sure what to say about the 20s but I know most of the guys here think the HKS is overpriced for the gains you get. That's about all I have to tell you, I'm sure others will post soon with more info...

I would go for the 19's the 20's are really going to make it slow!

But either way you look at it, it will be much slower than it is now!

HKS is the best...if you have extra $$ to burn. If you're interested in making your money go farther, stick with Stillen or Greddy exhaust. If you really want to go fast, I'd opt for a vortech supercharger. It's about 6k which is close to what decent rims and the HKS exhaust would run.

The Vortech is one of two FI kits that are CARB legal... (Stillen roots-type is the other)

i have all of the above...lol

the 19's or 20's will not 'make your ride slower' as mentioned before....thats just plain old ignorent. you have to look at wheel weight and other things of that nature. I have 20's on my car but they are feather weights. They are lighter than the stock rims. So in that theory, i must go lots faster? no. my full wheel weight is just slightly less but not enough to make an impact.

As long as you dont do some gaughty, chrome, 'heavy as crap', wheels you will be fine.

The HKS exhaust is great. I love it. I also have the test pipes so it is even louder. I like it loud.

I would also spend the money on the vortech.....lol.......i mean, i did...lol

here check it out...

Thanks for all the info guys...

I really don't have extra money to burn, but I am getting a great deal on wheels and tires...I should be able to get Falkens and 20's for 2k out the door….

I'll do some more research on the exhaust since I'm more into the sound appose to the gain of power....

I forgot to mention that I'm also buying brakes and rotors. Any recommendations? Not looking to spend much, but I also don't want cheap stuff...

I'm also getting an intake by late next week; it will probably be an Injen from Autobac…

I can't wait to get all this stuff on the G, I'll make sure to post pics up immediately!!

Kmech_7- All I can say is how lucky!!! I would be at the track every weekend if I had a vortech....

2k for rims...and 2k for the exhaust...you're really close to the cost of a supercharger!!!

If I had to do it over, I would have saved my cash for FI.

Go with 20's, My brother had an 06 G-35 and he put 20" racing wheels on it and it was sweet! He had no problems with them either!

If I may add my opinion...

I would go with 18s or 20s. The 19s have more expensive tires than the 20s.

The right 18s with a drop look perfect. 20s also look good, but performance will suffer (regardless of weight) simply because the mass is farther from the hub and will require more torque to get it accelerating.

If you are paying $2k for wheels and tires, they better be good. There's also a true dual exhaust (coupe) from one of our sponsors that goes for $900 shipped. I've heard the clips and it sounds good. Can't remember who the manufacturer was.

I wouldn't spend $2k on an exhaust. Damn, go call Greg. He can probably do a custom exhaust for less.

Check out the Mod Database. There are tons of mods that will give you a better driving experience than the $4k you're spending now.

I have 20s. Drop your car a little bit and it looks great. As for the HKS..if you can afford it, get it!

My car is lowered about 1.5" already! I definitely like how it looks, but I can't stand scratching my car (which happens very often) on everything I try to go over. I'll probably end up buying a body kit by Jan or Feb, if i get a nice commission check.

This is the website from where i'll be getting my wheels and tires. http://superbuytires.com/The tires I have to choose from are listed on the website and theres an endless amount of rims to choose from.

I'll be at the shop tomorrow during my lunch break and have them check out my car. I hope we can fit 20"s, but if we can't; i'll probably end up getting 19"s

I was thinking about a custom exhaust way before I started searching on name brands. What do you think about the bottom one?http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...wItem

I also found this HKS exhaust for $876.00, what do you think?http://www.customcarscentral.c....html

I need new tires ASAP, I currently have the tiny spare on my rear right wheel and it feels like its going to fall off....

Ive had it on for about 3-4 days already!

19's. Tyres are cheaper and they are lighter, plus they still look big enough to stand out.

So I went to the shop and 20"s will not fit on my car, the damn thing is simply way too low...

With that said, I'll be gettting 19"s!! Which is fine by me...check out my wheels belowhttp://www.wheelsnext.com/whee....html

I'm also getting new brakes and rotors, everything came out to be around $2800 or so

I should everything on by Monday morning, I'll post pics up by Tuesday

peace

Not over here they're not. 20s are cheaper than 19s because few people have 19s.
