So a friend of mine and i were having a discussion the other night about how he thinks 20's would fit on a 240? I am not so sure it is really possible is it? if it was would you effectively have no more dreaded fender gap between the wheels and fender? this is a hypothetical Q only im not actually planning on doing it i just want to know if there is the possibility for the sake of argument?

No.

Most 18s and therefore almost all bigger wheels require a fender roll/pull etc.

Also, it would look stupid IMO.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.. i just got a mental image of that! but imagine the driver having a matching "grill". & it has to be on a stock s13 hatch.

OH I GOT IT!! I know what it reminds me of now.

Bubb Rubb with his grill, and his mark 3 supra with big chrome wheels, and the muffler whistle that goes "WOO WOO!".

Look it up on youtube.

Theoretically, narrow 20's with low-profile tires and a pathetic offset could be shoved into the fenderwells.

It'd be ugly, unsafe, and ride like crap.

Which means some wannabe "baller" will do it.

mind you this was a completely hypothetical discussion haha i like how some of you seem to think that if some one said yes that i would have a set of 20's on my door step the next day.. not happening ever! lol this kid that i was talking to is the lets put 22's on a civic kinda guy. I was merely humoring him by finding out if it is possible.

there was this cat i saw at hin that had tossed some 20" chromies on his 240 conv. you may have seen a pic or two of the car in the car mags (super street, scc, etc) in a falken ad. anyways, the guy had to use some ridiculous camber just to make em fit (who knows how the hell it rides).

tell your homie that if he puts some dubs on his s13, ill t-bone him w/ my g20.

its not hard to do... you just have to be a wheel fitment guru.

tube the front fender wells and radius the rears. proper offsets and lots of camber.

it can be done. but its only possible if you can finesse it and have lots of skill.

This thread has answered the question so many of us with daily drivers and common sense have asked all along. How can I be hella flush without scraping? :bigthumb: I'm gonna go look into 20" Boyd Cottingtons right now.

I may be crazy but...roginooo's pic is SICK!!! I've wanted to run 18" front 19" rear but now...yeah, it's got too much camber (total StanceWorks style) but I think with the right width and offset...that side view IS SICK!!! LOOK AT IT!!! :dblthumb:
