Just got the car painted from plum color to cranberry red and now she need some fresh kicks. Do 20's fit well w/o rubbing. Cuz the guy we bought it from last year said he had 20's on it but they rubbed. This a big boy car,i cant c that happening. Its really my girl's car and she talking bout 18's. Nah, she might as well do it big. So could the rubbing he was talking bout have dealt w/ tire size? I will have pics soon, the car just got finished yesterday and i aint pick it up yet?

get the biggest rims that will fit under that biotch, like 22`s or 24`s, heavy, sturdy, krome ones that will set it apart from the rest!

Most on NICO don't care for the "over-sized" look of 20's or greater. I would imagine they could fit, assuming the right width and offset. But most of us would ask "why?".

Look for the G50 fitment thread to see what some 17" and 18" fitments look like.

20x8 offset between 30 and 40 with 245-35-20 would be your best bet, and they wont rub at all...

You'll have performance issue on any wheel and tire that weigh over oem 15-16"................not to mention wheel bearing failure and accelerated wear of suspension and brake components.

Nowhere is riding on doves more common than right here in Atlanta. Old and later model Chevy Caprice classics with rims so big they could fit an 18 wheeler and at the light, you can see trunk vibrating as if about to explode. I mean pieces falling off.

Too bad you live so far from Phoenix.I have a set of almost new chrome American Racing 20" "Casino" wheels with Sumitomo 245/35ZR20 HTRZ II, 900 miles, for sale here, but no way to ship them.First $1.000 takes them.

They WERE on it.I guess younger guys would like them, but for me, they weren't appropriate on a Q.

Shipping wheels is VERY easy. All you have to do is cut cardboard circles the size of the wheels/tires, and tape them on (just wrap all the way around in about 6 bands). No boxes required, the tire tread stays exposed. But those heavy 20's will cost about $2-250 coast to coast.

interesting method... I may have to try that, basically all your doing is covering/protecting the metal part, leaving the rubber exposed... I like it.

that's how tirerack ships 'em.

I like to do that then completely bag the wheel/tire, but it is overkill.

I think that's more hassle than I'm up for. If I could get Discount Tire to ship them for me, I might do it, but that's not too likely. After all, they're in business to sell THEIR tires, not act as a shipping agent for customers, even though I bought my wheels and tires there. I think my best bet is to look for a customer here in Phoenix, who can inspect them before buying them. That eliminates potential hard feelings too.

hey, dubs will fit fine and they'll look good. Just make sure you dont get anything bigger than 35 series tires. I got 35's on my Q and they dont rub. looks real good. But just to make sure I also added 1" spacers on the back only for when I have people on the back. but check out my Q45 on dubs.

20's look great on THIS Q, but this is the only one I've ever seen them look good on. If you're not sitting this height, and this flush, then they'll look lame IMO.

Yeah, if you want your car to be on "Pimp my ride" or "Unique whips".Moderate lowering is good, but the ghetto look is not becoming to a Q45.

YMMV

I'm not sure if you're saying the silver Q I posted for reference is "ghetto" but if you are, you're so very, very wrong. That's by far the nicest Y33 to ever grace the roads of America. That car is so complete, everything is 1st class, from the Brabus wheels down to the air-bag Momo steering wheel.

Just for clarification, I was referring to 20" wheels on a G50, not the later model Y33. I think 19" wheels look best on the Y33, but 20's can fit fine. Actually, the FX45 20" wheels look great on a Y33.

Not by any means. I was just saying that the statement that:"you can never be TOO low... "isn't absolute.

I've seen a lot of lowered Q's that look great. I've also seen a few that looked like they came straight from the ghetto and would be appropriately driven by "grilled", heavily tattooed and pierced rap performers and basketball players.

I have seen "slammed" Q45s that dragged on the ground, with 24" wheels and rubber band tires that look goofy. Such exaggerations should be reserved for Cadillacs and 67 Caprice Classics, where dancing hydraulics might be expected.

"Too much is almost enough" applies well to money, horsepower, sex (and chocolate), but not to lowering Q45s.

As stated in my previous post, YMMV.
