Hello,I have been shopping sround for some rims and I came accross some one that said that if I was to go to 20" I would loose alot of preformance. Has any one experience this problem? I have the stock 18" on the car right now. I really like the looks of 20" over the 19" but I do not want loose to much preformance.

What I mean is that the 18" infinite wheels came on the car when I bought it.

G35, not 240sx. Pay attention to what forum you are in

robchris:From a performance perspective, if you get a larger diameter wheel (even at the same weight), it will take more hp to move it. So, yes, you will lose "some" performance by going to larger rims. If you go larger, but lighter, it is possible for it to be "not as bad"

20's look great on a Coupe.

A nice compromise, if you don't want to lose performance, is to get a set of the Ray's Forged 19's off an 05-06 Coupe.

They can be bought pretty cheap, they look cool, and they're actually lighter than the 18's.

I have 20s on my coupe and love the look (just got new springs on to bridge the wheel gap that it created). My wheels are heavy so I'm sure there is a performance hit there but I'm not out on the 1/4 mile so not really noticeable.

Here's a pic with the new springs on - just to give you an idea. If you want a pic w/out the lowering springs to see what the wheel gap might look like check out http://www.gamingmom.com/pix/car/gmom3.jpg

20's will hurt performance to some degree. I'd probably pony up the money for forged wheels at that size for sure(forged with 18's and 19's are still a good idea). the weight of a larger wheel is further out, which increases it's rotational inertia. Getting a lighter forged wheel will help minimize this and help reduce unsprung mass. If you can find a good lighterweight tire, it might be helpful as well, but I'd make sure you take into consideration the load ratings and actual tire build. It could be worth a little bit of weight if the tire is better built.

I've seen several G35c's here in So. Cal with up to 21" wheels, looks cool but is very "all-show no-go".

I would sure like to find a set of the stock staggered 19" Rays G35 coupe wheels for sale for a good deal or trade for my 18s (plus cash on my part).
