it's crap, never been proven to give you much of anything except a very slight increase in throttle response, my friend was dumb enough to get one and it didnt work at all. also, all it is is a resistor. you can buy 5 of them for a dollar at radio shack (it won't give you 100hp :) ) search for it and on here and on google, nad you'll find what kind of resistor it is

I got 4 of these, at the house.

I paid $3.00 for. The guy ahd a deal, buy one, and get one for free. I didn't receive the first shipment, then he sent me a second set, for free. Then my wife found the first set.

It will only work with OBDII systems, and I wouldn't recommend putting them on your car.

If you have to see what it is, I can try to find them, and send you one.

Jeff, excuse me for the newbie question, but what is an OBDII system?

Thanks

Lou

I will try to explain, to the best of my knowledge. I am not an expert, by any means, ans most of what I know, has been learned on this and other boards. All of my real-life experiences, are with small block Chevy's.

OBDI is the engine control system used in pre-1996 Q45's.

The EPA hit the auto industry prety hard with emmission requirements in 1996. OBDII computer systems were used on the Q and other Nissans, to meet the requirements.

The system was totally different than the 1995 Q's.

Then, in 1997, a new design of the V-8 was introduced, the 4.1 Less HP, but met the EPA's standard.

If you recall, 1995 was the last year for the 3.0 SOHC engine, in the Nissan trucks (I had one). They went to 4 cylinder engines, until the 3300, used in the pathfinders, was fit for the pick-up, some time in 1997 or 8.

what that is, is a 4.7 ohm resistori learned about this mod, went to radio shack and for .30 cent got 6 of them,

you put them into the air temp sensor, and it makes the computer read 57F, which will advance your timing and raise the fuel pressure a bit, resulting in increased hp, however there is ruff idle…I did notice a small gain…more like 2-3hp not 10-20 like eBay advertises

Just remember that the ECU retarding the timing advance when it's hot outside is to protect the engine from detonation a/k/a spark knock! Even if it does increase HP, I'd say it's not worth loosing the protection built in to the system. Maybe a new ECU (for pre OBDII cars) with different mapping for timing advance, but not just a blanket "fool the computer" approach.

Also, the ECU has several checks to make sure all of the numbers "jive" - at least on OBDII models, so a mod like this may throw a check engine light.
