... two racing harness'. I got them from a friend who was selling his FC for 20 cash dollars. Booyah!They say mazdaspeed but it doesn't look authentic, maybe an ebay knockoff. I don't really care as long as they do the job. CAn anyone verify that I hooked it up right. I just used teh existing wholes. I think AxelGrungy has his like this as well. Take a gander.

Looks good. I think as long as the belts are bolted down, it should be OK. Make sure the head of that nut is much bigger than the hole (maybe use a large washer??)

See, S13 seats arent that bad. I couldnt use those belts on my S14...

you need either a roll cage, or a harness bar. Hooking them up that way will get your seriously injured in a accident. Also, I'd consider some certified harnesses, so the cheap ones don't break if you get into a accident.

My car is too slow for drag racing so I'm sticking to the road course and autox. I know what you mean though. SHould I get a plate behind the bolt (under the car) to reinforce it?Thanks for the input....keep it coming.

a proper setup would be one that angles the belt 90 degrees from the body. c pillar bar would work. the setup pictured above will crush your collar bone in a frontal crash by pushing down on it.

According to Simpson, the attachment point of the belts when the user is seated upright should be no more than 10 degrees below the shoulder. Having them mounted to the floor like that will cause spinal compression, even in a very minor impact. Probably the safest way to put them in without buying a cage would be to have a harness bar mounted as close to the back of your seat as possible that will allow the belts to be either level with your shoulders or no more than 10 degrees below.

To my knowledge I dont think they make a harness bar for 240's. I checked with Sparco and they said they will be releasing one late this year. Do any other companies make them??

if you take a look at sparco's catalog, they say a mounting point such as ghostdriver's is ok. they also list degree measurements along with a snazzy diagram, but i forget what those measurements were.

Hi guys, I had a quick question abou the harness bar, where exactly does this bar go?I was wandering through ebay the other day and saw a bar that connected the top of the rear seat belt mount. would it be safe to mount the harness to that or is it too far back?

thank god you said that, because i was just about to post it. yeah, that is just as ridiculous as people sporting "VTEC" stickers on s13's. ditch the mazdaspeed harnesses. it's really tacky.

I may be wrong, but your hookup locations are dangerously incorrect. In an accident, the harness (because of it attachment location, the floor) will pull you downwards, and may compact your spine. Not a pretty thing.

I think that the correct way is to have them attached to a harness bar. A horizontal bar that attaches to your the left and right sides behind your seats. Lemme find a pic.

ok, here's one that I found.

So in an accident, you'll be pulled back into the seat, instead of down to the floor. No more spine injury.
