Hey thanx fro the help to all who have good info. Thank you

I am putting 90 Vh45 in 90 300Z

3 wires of question and where to hook up.

on VH harness G - closed TPS switch where do i hook this up to? whats it do?R/W Sensor power source (i think i just hook it up to a ign hot)B Sensor Ground ( i think i hook it up to a ground)

past that, FSM, and the info here have made this one of my easiest engine wiring swaps ever. SOOO much easier than LS1 in RX7.

just looking for advice and experience, no hating please.

Thanx Craig

IIRC the closed tps is for the auto or tcs functions and is not used. The R/W just hooks to ign power and the sensor ground goes to ground but I think there is a ground junction under the hood that those go to so they get grounded under the hood too. Couldn't hurt to ground them inside the car too though just in case you missed it. It's a ring terminal with like 5 black wires on it.

SWEET !!!!!!!!!!!!!Thanx for the timely response.

I build a lot of cars, and specialize in engine swaps.I can't wait to have this one on the road.

Wiring harness, really is simple and self contained, so far......

thanx again.

Any chance of having a VH get-together?

I live in Austin TX,

Something I can check on, but I believe the sensor power source needs to be 5 volts, not 12. On my stock VG33 harness there was a 5V "sensor power" wire coming in from the main body harness that I spliced in. I'd assume your 300ZX body harness has something very similar.

That is what i am hoping, could even be same color, but will know in a week or less.

Any info is appreciated, and will benefit many others in the future.

Page 215, EC section of Q45 FSM. Terminal 48 on the ECU is the sensor power source.

I honestly can't even remember, but I think this 5V wire is power going into the ECU that then feeds to the sensors.

What a coincidence, terminal 48 (and 5.0 volts) on your (old) ECU as well! Check out page 176 of your FSM, EC section.

I asssume you mean the Z32 FSM, I tried to download it, but it was corupt, I got a 94, though,. Looking right now to see if I can get it to download and work this time.I asume that both cars eccs's are requiring and supplying the same wiring layout.

It always messes up my computer when I try to open big PDFs without saving them first. Go to http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/ and it has everything you need.

Do you still have your factory ECU harness in the car? The wire going to pin 48 on your 300zx ECU needs to be connected to pin 48 on the Q45 EcU.
