Hey I was wondering how well 2 way limited slips performed in winter and if there are any major drawbacks I should be aware of.

What's a 2-way LSD? Never heard of it.

i have a 2way ats deftforce(on SilkRoad Coils and heim joints all around) in my s13 and i love it for the winter, no more one wheel just spinning(as long as you have some tread on the tire).

I do reccomend having good tires for the winter. However I made it through this one fine with bald a** tires(not reccomened). so that would probably be the worst case scenario setup for having a 2way in the winter, besides adding gobs of power.

From what I have seen in 2 winters with this setup:

you do have to be a little careful on highway exit and entrances while decelerating when its icy, i found it best to NOT down-shift and let the engine do any of the breaking. as this would cause the lockup on decel, and arround an icy turn it *can* get you sideways.

you will get used to it quick. Go to a safe empty parkinglot for a half hour or however long you can gert away with after the first snowfall to get aquainted with the new diff.

also i am assuming you take the car to the track as you are asking about a 2way, so as long as you make it to a couple events and drive it regularly you should be well used to the way the car acts with the diff by the time the snow hits.

basically you will have no problems if you drive normal, drive like an *** and a 2way can bite you in slick weather, but it can be the most fun ever as well as long as you are in a safe area(**NOT ON THE STREET**).

Good luck and enjoy

i would guess deceleration oversteer is the big problem (at least not expected at first), everyone can expect oversteer while accelerating and turning

I rolled a 1.5way with summer tires this last winter.

It is gnarly as hell in the snow...be prepared to countersteer...

I love snow drifting, you can hold insane angle at like, 10mph, hahaha.

And for a change, hitting things doesnt always ruin your car
