I have a 2001 QX4 with the 1 connector -8 ballast. I have the tilting headlight option, and the motor on the passenger side went out, so experienced a loud clicking sound. My dealer disconnected the plug, and tried to do what they could to keep the light from shining down. (was about 15 feet in front of the vehicle) I recently purchased a couple of headlights, thinking they were non-tilting and just HID, but were tilting w/ a broken motor also. So, one is okay, but the passenger one shines down like my original did. Question is, I found 2 from different headlights that appear in better shape than the ones I just bought. In my research, the ballast for 2001 is larger than those on 02 and 03's. There are also 2 different types, D++++++-07, with 2 connections, and my original units, D+++-08, with one connector. Both units I have found again have the 2 connector ballasts, so does anyone know if it would be a problem using those complete units? (I did not know this prior to having the ones I just bought installed, and now cannot see if they are the 1 or 2 connector) As I am purchasing the complete assembly, I do not think it would matter, but want to ask others. Also, I do not need the tilting option, so I guess if they are non-tilting, they will shine down the road correctly, and if they tilt, and the motor works, they should still stay in the "up" position. This has been the biggest headache getting my QX4 back in the condition that it should be. Thanks for your help.
