Arrite guys, so my 2.5 with the stock rubber feels very unstable at times of rain, or even at times of weather change from dry to wet. It's getting me a little worried abt what will happen when/if it starts snowing here. I don't have the funds to really do too much, but I'd like some suggestions that would probably help get me thru this winter at least. Possibly winter tires onto my stock rims?

Also, for those of you that are rockin' nicer rims and tires as well, when/are u planning to switch to different rubber and what type, plz shed some light on the issue for me, it'd be much appreciated

Btw, one more thing abt this is when i drive I become aware of how light this car is because when its windy outside i can feel this car swayin a lil. And regarding a bad instance with rain, well see if u can diagnose this for me, i'm comin out of a minor downward slope, out of a movie theater, it started and stopped rainin while i was in the movie, as as i press the gas to merge into the highway traffic, my rpm's rev high, but the car isn't really moving, it's just at a slight roll as if i had shifted it into neutral, which i most certainly didn't do, it felt as if i can disengaged from the whole gear box or something, then i waited till the revs came down, decided to switch into manual mode, pressed the brakes a bit, and everything came back to normal, even when switching it back to regular mode. I hate the problems associated with this car

The squeaks (which i am starting to hear from the driver seat belt, seems like it needs to be oiled up or something, and the rattling passenger seat belt, the super duper squeaky brakes (even at extreme minimal movement) which btw nissan sed there was no recall on my car for, so seriously i hope whatever happens with my car, it happens b4 the warranty runs out cuz i got it in march and im already at 12,000 miles and that's crzy for me especially since i told my insurance company that it was gonna be for leisure max: 9,000 miles for the whole 1 yr policy

THat 2nd topic was about something i came across on ebay, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...sting Vinyl overlay for the 3rd brake light, i remb some1 putting an Injen Sticker up there, looked good to me, all glowy

So yea, this is lengthy, but madd detailed, hope u can gimme some insightThanks, you all are great

I had the same problem about 2 weeks ago with the stock rubber when it was raining. I even brought my speed down to 50mph and I was still all over the place on the parkway... absolutely garbage, but I'm gonna wait until I buy the aftermarket rims that I want, hopefully nothing happens between now and the spring

Sounds to me like you were just skidding from the fresh rain. Then again it could be the CVT, i've got a manual so i'm not sure if the cvt's giving you issues.

I have had my factory 17's on the 3.5 over 100mph on a road trip from Wisconsin to NY in the rain with no problems Go on tirerack and look up the OEMS and check there ratings, they list wet/snow/dry ect...I know i'm not much help but I use that site to help me pick tires all the time, just strange nissan would pick a poor performing tire on the 2.5 which many people buy for highway driving...

Ugh - the 3.5 OEM's are straight up garbage. I don't even like to drive in wet weather with them...can't wait for them to die.

The reving but not moving thing sounds like your tires are spinning. That's not car error, that's driver error - take it slower in wet weather. Since you don't have a TCS or VDC you can't tell that they're spinning without really listening well.

The squeeks are something that some members note, and some eventually go away, or others you can pad down a little bit. All cars have some squeek somewhere... The car isn't really light, it comes in around 3200 lbs. You feel wind in a car that weights 4000 lbs too...

Driving more miles than your insurance called for doesn't seem to be a fault of the car...not sure what you are looking for...

Brake squeak was a recalled issue - check with another dealer for a 2nd opinion since you are in warranty. Certian days brakes squeak though, based on weather conditions.
