There were 2 different descriptions on how to program FOB
1. Slide you're driver's seat all the way back and check underneath. there should be a box under there. if there is, then that is most likely the remote reciever, if not then you probably don't have an alarm system or remote system.
if there is a box, there should be a sticker on it, poke around the sticker and you should be able to push through it in a specific place. there'll be a button underneath. push and hold the button down for a few seconds. you'll hear some noises and then when they are a continuos beep hit a button on your remote. if it accepts it, then you'll hear some more beeps. hit the button on the box under the seat again. then turn your car on then off and remove the key. then test it and makes sure it works.
the steps maybe wrong, you might want to look around this forum. i know i've seen it on here before. and i've had to reprogram my remote a few times so i know this method works. i first tried with the same method provided to you with no such luck.
2.
The instructions given were as follows:Get inside the Pathfinder, lock the doors using the lock button on the drivers arm rest. Next, take the ignition key and insert it into the ignition and slowly remove it. Do this 6 times. After the 6th time the hazard lights will flash once (if they don't flash, repeat the whole process again doing it a little faster). After the lights flash, put thekey back in the ignition right away and turn it to the ACC position. Next push the lock button on the remote. The hazard lights will flash again letting you know it accepted the new code
