1. what is this whining coming from my backseat? I know it's the fuel pump but why is it so loud? Should it be that way?

2. I know there has been a subject on this but what do you use for rear end lube? What do I need to get the job done? Do I need to suck the oldstuff out or is there a way to let it drain? Thanks

replace fuel pump ASAP before it takes out the more expensive controller.search the board, many posts on this topic.

rearend had drain&fill plugs.use a synthetic gl-5 gear oil-I am using Redline 75w-90 at 8.00 per quart, you need 1.5 quarts to refill-mobil 1 and amsoil also make excellent full synthetic lubes-I do this every 12 months, along with every other fluid.

What makes the pump go bad? Is there a way to just repair the pump before it gets bad?

pump goes bad due to age{usu},dirt in gas, rust and debris in tank,etc-pump is non-servicable and must be replaced before it damages controller by overheating due to increased current draw by pump.

I'm so very sorry but that's one of the funniest thing I've ever read on this board. I have nothing technical to add, sorry again.

Oh man, I better go back and edit. That sounds bad. Nice to know where your mind is.
