2 Quick Questions

Hey Guys, this is my first post in the Maxima section because im ususally hangin around in the Z32 section. But anyways my first question is are there any aftermarket suppliers that make the 2000 Maxima rear bumper or will i have to order it from nissan? number 2 is what exactaly is the service engine light on for? My girlfriend says she took the car in for service but the guy didnt know how to turn it off. she says she got an oil change and thats it. She didnt have the manual in her car so i couldnt read on it. i didnt find a switch under the dash so i don no. Well u guys will see me here more often but thanks for the help.

Bumper from ebay.Get it scanned at autozone for the engine light.There is no switch to turn it off. It has to be done with a scan tool.

the check engine light is almost always for something related to emissions, ie; 02 sensor(s), Mass Air Flow Sensor, Knock sensor, or a bad Pre Cat.

Take your Maxima to the nearest Autozone and borrow their OBD2 Scanner and hook it up to the plug that's under your dash near the drivers left leg. scan the car while it's running, write down the codes, ask the Autozone guys to print out or tell you what the codes are for, come back here...and we can help you from their!!

Nah its not the check engine light, its the service engine soon light. If it was a CL then i couldve done it. But im not sure what that perticular light is for. so anybody have ne more opinions. Thanks for the reply by the way.
