well i bought a 90' 240sx and i'm having problems with the hatch. 1st i want to make sure is if a 89 240sx hatch would fit on my car? cause the kid that had it before me made "new" holes for the spoiler and its leaking. i found one in a junk yard on a 89' 240sx with no spoiler and was woundering if there would be no problem replacing it? also how much to you think the cost about?
2nd the pull lever by the driver seat to open the hatch dont work. I have to have somw one stand at the hatch and pull up when i pull the lever.... i took a pick of what can be the problem, but i'm not sure what i need to fix it
the part i have circled just moves up&down when i pull up&down on the lever. any1 have a clue what i need??

2 questions about the hatch....
the hatch can be replaced. mine was done a while ago by a local body shop since it had to be painted. you could also do it yourself, its not very hard.
that cable attatches to a release behind that red part to the right of the blue circle. i cant remember exactly what it looks like, but i am sure it is somewere in there.

89 ad 90 are the same....hell 89-93 I think are the same exept the front bumper and engine...When you replace it you should look for a hatch that doesnt have the stock spoiler either...The stock foam spoiler is infamous for trapping water and rusting the hatch.

^^ yeah thats what i'm gonna do, the hatch has no spoiler, thats why i want it, cause the foam spoiler is kinda dumb looking to me... hopefully i can get it soon, thanks for the help

well ironically the same thing is up with my hatch, the lever doesnt work either unless theres someone standing at it when i pull the lever, ill just use this forum as advice. thanks
