hi guys, please help i have 2 questionssss,

1. I bought my 2009 Altima from a used car dealer that gets his cars from the auction, I bought it Aug 2011. I bought some brake pads recently and when I put the car info on the site, (2009 Nissan Altima SL 2.5 ) each different auto place told me my car was the V six model. The car was loaded and only had 23k when i bought it. It was very clean and did not look like it was tampered with. Do you think the original owner could of ordered my car new with a 4 cyl instead of the 6 cyl?

2.Could I replace my 4 cyl with the 6 cyl and keep the same trans? or will I need to change alot of stuff to make it work/fit? it is the tiptronics auto trans.

3. sorry one more question....... is ther a turbo I could buy and put it on the 4 cyl ? does nissan make such a bolt on device?

thank you in advanced

whoa...so everyone told you that you got the V6 but you have the 4-banger? I'm a bit confused...

You have to change the transmission if you want to convert. Plus some other stuff. Not too knowledgeable on that part.

There is a turbo for the 2.5 but why bother? All that money could go towards a V6 model, not to mention that's all the horsepower you'll get (V6 altima stock horsepower). Not worth it bro, the 4 banger is a daily commuter, if anything, just stick to cosmetics only and maybe switch out the exhaust to an aftermarket one. Happy modding and welcome to the forum! :mike

thanks for the reply, i appreciate it.. I know it was a 4 cyl when i bought it . I meant when I put my model number and year of the car in to advanced auto parts.com it tells me that it is a 3.5 v6 weird... just wondered if the original person who ordered this car new asked for the 4cyc instead of the v6. my car is a 2009 Nissan Altima SL 2.5

Welcome! Sounds like a glitch on the website to me. I'm not sure of the 2.5 and the 3.5 use the same pads. Maybe they do!

Motor swap is possible if you have the cash. There is a turbo available. Take a look around on the forums. We have a couple users with a 2.5 and a turbo.
