hey bro, im not sure anything about that noise on your titan. i have seen a few with interior rattles and stuff but nothing in time with the rpms. as for the abs/vdc/tcs...yes, you can turn it off. there should be a button by your left knee to turn that off(i think). then that sucker will do some real smokies!
on the max...what year? the starters on those things are known for getting old and funky. i highly reccomend that if you get a starter, just spend the money on a nissan one and only have to do it once. its a pretty easy install but you dont want to be taking it back to slappys discount auto parts every month(seen it happen). you may look into rebuilding it if you have the time and can find parts for it. the o2 sensors are also pretty common on those cars. there was a recall for obd2 on like the 95 or 96(i forget) that involved replacing o2 sensors and an exhaust pipe. it relocated the sensors so they did not get wet by the water in the exhaust and crack. those cars are sensitive to idle speed so make sure it idles high enough to avoid flooding the motor on cold days. also, a QUALITY fuel additive really does help them out. use something like chevron techron, bg 44k, or seafoam. those are all high quality products unlike most of the stuff you will find in the parts store. a nissan master tech at my shop did an injector service(with 3m injector cleaner) on his 96 max and the idle jumped up by like 150rpm or something due to better fuel atomisation. now, he swears by them.
