Hi folks,
I'm new, very new, to this forum - but wished I had found you earlier!
I have two problems with my 2001 I30t(which I bought used about 2 years ago):
The door ajar light won't go off. I've checked the door switches, and they are all fine. The door lights (not the dome light) stay on while driving, and eventually turn off after about 20 minutes after the car is parked. If the car alarm is activated, the alarm will go off at that point, so I'm manually locking the doors. Do I need to replace the Smart Entrance Control Unit, or is something else at work here?
The second problem is a problem I inherited when I purchased the car - the ABS/TCS/SLIP lights are lit on the dashboard. I once had an estimate from the dealer to fix it - they said to replace the computer control unit for a cool $1200.
I bought TWO on eBay over the past couple of years (for about 25 bucks a pop), made the switch, and the lights remain on. An OBD hooked up to the car yields strange results - sometimes it says replace the control, sometimes it doesn't register at all. The codes can't seem to be reset, as well.
Any suggestions on these two problems - my dashboard is lit up like a Christmas tree! Thanks in advance.
