2 other questions on the wifes 2012 G-37 convertible..
Both of the factory keyfobs died years ago, so I replaced them with a pair of aftermarket ones purchased off EBay or Amazon.. Had the local locksmith program them. They work fine as long as they're inserted into the slot on the lower dash, but they won't work in your pocket like the factory ones did. They do lock unlock. Is this a programming problem or a non factory fob problem?
2nd one is, the TPMS light came on a year ago and in dealing with the local tire store, we found the OE sensors had died from age. Ordered a new set of "compatible" sensors and had them installed. The tire store has the correct programmer, but after running it round all 4 tires, the TPMS light refuses to go out. Again, programming problem or incorrect sensors?
I about ready to suck it up and take it to the dealer for a cure, but hoping it won't come to that (at the dealer rate of $140 a 'book' hour.
Any ideas?

When you put the keys in the slot, the reader uses an RFID circuit which will work even if the fob battery is dead. Do the request buttons on the doors work? If so, the in-car circuit works and you may have an antenna issue inside the car.
If not, the fob buttons will often work at short range even though the fob battery is low, where the in-car circuit usually won't. Try some new batteries. If that doesn't help then the fobs probably have a compatibility issue.

Does the TPMS lamp flash for about 30 seconds after starting the car and then go solid, or does it just go solid? If it's the former then there will be codes in the BCM indicating what the problem is. If it's the latter then the pressure circuit in one of your new sensors isn't working and thinks a tire is flat. I think on a '12 you should be able to display that from the vehicle menu.
