Trying q45tech`s procedure to exchange ATF,as we speak! up till now,I have used the machine method to replace the Mobil 1 ATF every year-always concerned that the techs would somehow damage the cooler lines and or connections{paranoia?} so today,I am trying this method-drain{about 2.5 quarts is all that is coming out in the half hour i let it drain},refill 2.5 quarts, run engine 120 seconds at idle in park, drain again, refill, run 12o seconds,etc-I plan to repeat this process 5-6 times-using 12.5-15 quarts of mobil 1-how close will i get to the results of a machine based fluid exchange?

procedure completed!drained&refilled 5x,used 13.5 quarts, leaving .5 quart for final level adjustment.if this procedure is equivelent to machine exchange, then $99.00 saved, and most importantly,no fear of damage to lines,or incorrectly installed engine sheild,or filthy interior.

You should do a quick write up on it. I may give it a go also. Nice job.
