I swear by my splitfire setup. The car runs much smoother with them. It eliminated all the little hiccups it had with the stock stuff. I've had my setup for 3 or 4 years with no issues. The issues I had on the dyno weren't due to my ignition hardware, it was all the crap tune I had, lol.idahotuner wrote:yeah he might be on it i will let him know, he is actually from Oregon, it sounds nice with his exhuast, but i give him crap about it being a chick car lol.
what did you ever figure out for your ignition because i remember it was breaking upon the dyno, and that is just about the only stock thing i havent messed with yet. alot of people say the the stock ignition system is better even then spitfires and those types of "supposed upgrades"
Someday... ha ha. This is a very long project indeed...homeslicej2 wrote:Keep it going. It'll be finished soon enough
Mine is at 8.5 years currently, lol.compactfean wrote:I've had my car since I was 17....... Project still incomplete. Lol.
I wish we had a waterjet. We do very little machined parts in house (all composites we do in-house), so my options are fairly limited. We only have 2 bridgeports, 1 lathe, a brake and some other small various tools.Seishuku wrote:lol
Nice. Mine is just a stainless 90deg bent bracket that I cut on our waterjet, uses the bolts that hold the top of the FPR on.
That's a big weight savings according to http://www.ka24development.com/brake_upgrades.html2_Liter_Turbo wrote:Well I got some brake parts in the mail today. Something to help out with going faster ... stopping faster! Ha ha
Two piece rotors (Defsport/Skullworks AL hats), Defsport/Skullworks brackets, Wilwood superlite calipers, wilwood brake lines, and all the hardware. Pads are still in the mail. I also weighed everything:
Both Front Calipers/Brackets/Hardware - 11.2 Lb
Plain Caliper (each) - 5.0 lb
1 Bracket with bolts - .6 Lb
Rotor/Hat/Hardware - 12.0 Lb
Plain Rotor - 10.4 lb
Hat w/ Hardware - 1.6 lb
Total unsprung weight on one side minus pads - 17.6 lbs. I'll weigh the 300ZX caliper setup I have once I remove them to compare, just wanted to get them online for later reference, lol.
Here's the driver side "matched up":
I had (and still use) the 44mm WG.K Wolfe wrote:When you had your initial twinscroll setup from full race what w/g did you use? the 38mm or 44mm?
