2 jz engine

hey dudes can i drop a 2 jz engine into my car, its a 1984 300zx turbo cause im sick of my old stock engine with no power also it will cause what say 9000 or so

Welcome to Nico!well, uh yeah you can out a 2JZ in your Z31, I don't think that swap has been done, at least not to my knowledge, it of course will be all custom but it can be made to fit, just be prepared to figure it out for yourself, and fab all your own parts

as for your stock motor, it has great potential, there are plenty of Z31's with stock motors putting 400 hp to the wheel! with all the same mods you'd have to put on a 2jz but without the swap drama

if you decide to do the swap please document it, but the cheaper easier route to power, is gona be, upsized turbo, fmic, larger injectors, and some sort of ecgine contro, either piggyback or stand alone, the zemulator looks promising

$9000 to swap in a 2JZ? Do you realize how much power you can get a VG30 to make with that kind of money? And a lot less hassle. Considering your level of education by the way you post, I seriously doubt you have $9000 to spend anyway.

I shoulda thought to check your site and yeah the 9k is stupid high, sounds like a price form soneone who really didn't want to do it, the 2JZ is a bargain compared to the rb26, I guess thats what domestic availabuilty will do for ya, but I still say build the VG

talked with Art at the Branson Z Fest. I know he got rides in a couple different cars while he was there. Must have read your signature and was worried about falling out through the floor boards.
