^^true, but there is more to it than just dropping your car an slapping new rims on it. when you lower it this way (which i did also ) the camber gets all wacky, and you need to get Ruca's and a camber kit for the front. I highly recommend doing the camber at the same time, If you don't and you come into a tight corner at high speed the front wheels wont grip so well, I slid almost off the road, since all the weight is being put on the inside corner of the tire.

S13 Ruca, S14 Ruca, Front Alignment kit the cheap way Front Alignment kit the right way

Here is a post on installing rucas zer...91312

the front alignment kit is pretty straight forward, however I have found it is best to make the adjustments while the weight of the car is on the wheel.

yea man stick shocks and drop springs are a recipe for a disasterous ride. invest in some nice shocks or go coilovers. i have koni yellow (adjustable) and eibach sportlines and my car rides smooth and butter

if you just want the look, chop 2 inches off your springs and then post the results here when you wreck your car so other people see why "dropping" your car for the wrong reasons is a bad idea.

[/QUOTE]is that correct? well if u had negative camber and u went into a banked turn or any turn for that matter wouldnt the car kinda roll over on the tire and use more of the contact patch? i dont know how to explain it in writing lol but i think ur example of having camber and u sliding is not a good one? front camber would prevent understeer more right? correct me if im wrong

Yeah, his explanation didn't make sense. Negative camber in the front should make it oversteer more than understeer.

gosh, all I see is complete noobness across this thread. Lowering your car 2 inches shouldnt really do too much to your alignment. I had my s14 with Eibach sportlines mounted on kyb dampers. it was like a 2inch drop or prob more, and well I had no problems with camber, so there was no reason to fix the camber issues. The fact is it will look gay imo so you should just do coilover and slam your ****, then you will need camber adjustment in the front and rear, and also toe adjust in the rear. Then again I could go into a whole rant about performance wise you get more steering angle out of a closer to stock ride height because of the angle of the tie rods. All in all asthetically i stand by what i said , even with the 17s it will look weak comparatively.
