I wanted to clean off the gas gauge sensor and since theres supposedly two fuel pumps, do both have their own float sensor thing or just one? I only ever see videos of people taking out the passenger side one for that

There is only 1 pump. The driver's side has a float/sending unit that lets the pump know what's going on with that side of the tank so it can pump accordingly.

There's only one pump in the tank, the other is just a level sender and pickup so you get a correct reading from the saddle tank and can pull from both sides. The senders are series-connected so they produce an average of the two wells.
