Has anyone really performed this mod??? The reason I ask is I've tried this 2 times and have had real bad timing issues. I know about retarding the intake side 4 teeth, seems like its the only way the damn cam can sit in that place. So is there anything else that has to be done to it besides that???

you need to really check and tripple check the cam timing. That's what screwed me up and blew my wife's motor. Make sure you have it set right. If you think you do, and the car wont start, its probably off because of the tesioner or the chain. Try taking a pic, I can visually tell if the cams are off.....
