Very interesting! Looks like a shoe horn was involved in getting that engine under the hood... good luck replacing valve cover gaskets

That third track video makes me very happy... what a great sounding engine

Still gotta give the chops to 450ZXTT.

Wish he would update us about the durability of his TT setup and what issues he's encountered. Who knows, he might sell a couple.

I actually talked to slim last night.

The bottom line is that the car is taking a beating but the motor is fine. he's gonna be changing his clutch because its being fried... Was using an RPS clutch and flywheel, i dont recall what its rated at but its a pretty stout clutch.

He did break an axle (note he's using Q45 diff and axles), but I think he said that it had been iffy for a while but he didnt get around to replacing it until it broke. He did have some issues with his plumbing but thats all taken care of.

He probably has about 160-170k on his motor (maybe 10-20k of which is his). Completely stock motor except the JWT chip.

The car is regularly driven (i wouldnt call it a daily driver even though it gets driven almost daily). Regularly sees very high speeds.

IF you have any specific quesitons I can probably answer them...

It is good to hear that Slim is still thrashing that Z car!

I need to go pay him a visit. I made a mistake when I sold Layla. I should have sent it to him for the tt setup.

I am still considering sending him Lola, when I finish my Vette restoration.

I am more interested in the rear-mount turbos than the front mount. There is a lot more room in the back, if yout take out the spare tire well. I could put the intake filters in the trunk, and put some Porshce Boxter intake vents in the rear quarters. Wouldn't that be cool!

Turbo lag would be a total b***h but the numbers would totally make up for it, and imagine what kind of intercooler setup you could run on a rear mounted twin turbo setup, scoops on the rear fenders for intake and then graft on an impresa style hood scoop onto the rear deck lid and fit a monster intercooler back their, you could be looking at some monster numbers, and being one of the most crazy q on the face of the earth, combine that with a z32/r32 transmission and talk about posting some big numbers while being really fast. especially with the slop of the rear of the cabin the air going through the intercooler would almost be force fed, and add an escape for that air through the bottom of the trunk with a directional vent so that the underside air acts as a vaccum it would really be efficient.

IM VERY will aware of rear mount turbos and the setups theyve been on and I still think their stupid. Im very well aware of the concept. I was thinking about this topic this morning and all I could think of is that "its boost for people who dont want to do it the right way".

There I said it....

Don't knock the rear-mount turbo concept too much. They can be made to work and there are some fast cars with rear-mounts as proof.

I am with Wes.

An air column that long has to embody considerable turbo lag. While they might be fast in a straight line after pressure in the inlet pipe is acheived, driving in traffic would have to be cumbersome at best.

but the initial torque of the vh45 would make it streetable, but i do agree that lag would be very terrible indeed. what if you went for a tri turbo setup? (checks to see if someone can use their imagination). a small turbo up front with a big turbo out back. the small would keep boost up while the absolutly huge rear turbo did its spinup and just goes bonkers after 1 second of full throttle?
