#2 Cylinder no Fuel (I THINK) on 93 300zx tt new parts
History
1993 (2nd owner I bought it with 13K miles in 94) 300zx TT Stage III ,78K miles on it. In the last 5 years I only put 4K miles on it. It has been in the garage for years.
I decide to start driving it. So I added (with LOTS of help from Glenn McCall Dallas,TX) I paid him to put all the parts on. (Not to trouble shoot).
1. New 1993 Wire harness
2. 300 Deg Fuel rail, 740 cc Nismo
3. Blitz Spec R
4. New AAIV
5. Fuel Pressure Regulator
6. Nistune Chip
7. New O2 Sensors
8. Water Bypass,
9. EGR block off, Emission removed
10. SZ 2.5 Down Pipes
11. New Plugs PFR6B11B
12. New Motor Mounts
13. New PCV’s
14. New Fuel Hoses, and some Vacuum lines
Test that I have done.
1. Replaced Coil pack (and even Swapped with working one)
a. Pull out and even looked at spark on Plug (while car was running)
2. Test voltage on all Injectors while car was running (14V )
3. Ohm ALL Injectors (most of them read 14.0 – 13.3 Ohms)
4. Compression test all Clys each about 142-145
5. Swap #2 Fuel Injector with #4 Inj
a. Then pulled Coil pack while car was running on #2 (car still did not change sound)
b. Pulled Coil Pack on # 4 (car did change sound)
6. Held Screw Driver on injectors to hear sound, #2 not loud (maybe sound from all others from fuel rail), all others I hear Twak, Twak Twak..etc
7. I even started the car with no coil pack in #2, when pulled #2 plug real quick (after I shut off the car) to see/smell gas on the plug and no gas.

Do you all have ANY idea what I should do next?

I’m thinking, ECU,PTU,CAS, on maybe even rechip with Nistune (don’t know it what order) or getting some type of Digital Compression tester (if there is a good one)

Cyl Comp test, Ohms on each Nismo {yes, on a paper towel }, Show spark from Plug, Show color on NEW plugs (see #2 color {Dark} and #4 color is the same as all others)
More notes
Ohms on each Injector are 1=14.0, 2=13.3, 3=13.0, 4=14.1, 5=13.0, 6=14.0
( I guess I need to short out leads then mins from result’s above from meter, I just now thought of that…hum) I really don't know what Ohms are suppose to be on new Nismo 740's??

Thanks for everyone help on this. I will POST what fixed it.WHEN I FIND a FIX.

My Christmas gift i want is... for me to drive my car :O)

next steps. My brother let me use his PTU from his 91 300zx TT car, I swap it with mine. Then try to start the car. the car would never turn over. Just.. trying to start (while turning the key)....

Crazy, anyway he let me use a old CAS, so I swap out the CAS and it still did not fix the injector from giving fuel to #2 Cly. So I went to nissan and bought a NEW PTU and then I swapped it out and, it STILL DIDN'T fix my issue (with my Org CAS back in the car).

now, I guess I will go buy a used ECU. If anyone has one, please email me ([email protected]). or run 2 more wires from teh #2 injector to the ECU. but I will need to find some type of pin out..etc

i better go, i need to goto tt.net or ebay and see if i can by some more parts

relaced PTU and CAS. Still not fuel through Injector #2. i can put a screwdriver on top of the inj to hear the sound (while it's unplugged). and I hear the same sound (no SOUND), if I have it plugged in or unplugged. But here is 13V going to it, and i did a Countunity test from Injector plug to Pins 58 and 110 on ECU Harness. SO that shows that Harnness is good.
Does anyone now if I hook up an oscilloscope to a WORKING injector (like my #4) and view what the ECU is sending to NON +13V pin on the EUC will I see something?? what is the single that goes to the other side of an injector??? is it a pluse of what ??? would I be a able to see it with an O Scope????

Im thinking if I see a working one, then I will know what I'm suppose to see on a bad one. then I will KNOW it is signal from the ECU.

Get a noid to test the injector pulse. A noid is a small LED that will blink when pulsed. I bought a kit for Ford and it worked on my Z.

Done. I got my oscilloscope out, put in on a working Injector and saw how it was suppose to work. Then I put it on the # 2 Injector and no signal at all (on the smaller cable). This is after, I knew that the 2 pins on the injector was connected and working fine (and all the other stuff i did before) all the way to the ECU harness. I got a voltmeter and found that out. So everything leaded up the the ECU.

I bought one from Glenn McCall and everything is working great.

Wow you are making this harder then you really need to..... Just change your plugs around with a known working injector.... Take the CAS off the motor and spin the back of it while the car is in the on position. Spin it around a bunch of times and then pull the plugs if wet then you have an ECU or CAS or wiring problem...... If no gas then its the injector not firing.....SIMPLE!
Hope this helps!
