Just got home after doinga few runs with my friend's 2008 civic si. Good races but not the most even. Off the line until 70 mph my altima kicked his ***.. then in his 3rd or 4th gear (wahtever one he was in) he flew by me once horsepower outweighed torque and I got a whooping. However.. off the line for about a quarter mile.. I was clearly ahead of him. For the record.. this was on an open empty road so don't worry noone was in danger. Thre tracks are closed still here.. so whatever. Anyway.. just htought i'd share that with the fellow 2.5ers. Something to be happy about.

I hear ya man!! Finally ran one myself here on some back roads off the line and I wooped him by about a car up to 75 and we had to stop... Wasn't really sure how I would fare but I came away feeling pretty damn satisfied!

Off the line I ripped him apart. My 186+ torque vs his noexisting was no match. Top end power only was good when we hit 75-80. By then I was almost redline into 4th and that was more than enough for a public street so i began letting off. But then he caem flying by. I'll get a video up i'm sure we'll do it again soon. Both cars are stick so it might be difficult to video esp since a passenger will have an effect with weight. We'll figure it out though.

Have you driven an SI? Their off the line speed is horrible. My 2.5 is quicker off the line. The SI starts to kick *** when it reaches 7000rpm (VTEC). From that point on, if you can keep the revs up, you're driving a pretty deadly machine around the track.

I admit I am a honda fan but the 06+ up look is not so appealing. Altima on the other hand is looking much better than its 3rd gen brother.

civic si should be able to out perform your car but it is probably the driver and not the car.

Driver skills is true. Those new si are quick, they keep up with the new mustang gts. Its the high revs. I admit was amazed at my 2.5 when I got it. Pretty quick for CVT.

I raced an si myself in my accord, I'm on 15psi. It pulled till 110 then I got to 160 and left off. Fast suckers! Anyone else here got a altima on laughing gas?
