2.5S sedan MPG

Hey guys,

I have a little over 600 miles now on my 08 altima. I took it on a road trip last weekend of abut 320 miles I averaged 30mpg, according to the cars computer. I think its great MPH for only 600 miles. In city driving I only get about 20MPG (lots of stop and go). I have a few questions though.

1. What kind of miliage are you getting in your 2.5?2. I've been looking for a break-in period as well and have not seen anything can someone shed some light on that? 3. When should I get the first oil change?

I average 30.3 MPG according to the computer after 6000+ miles. Doing the math at the pump I'm actually getting just over 28 MPG. So I stopped doing math at the pump and rely solely on the comptuer!

That is very low in my opinion. My 3.5 consistently gets 21 in qa city drive. Highway is 30 no problem. Either you got a heavy foot....or something is not right with your car..

I can feel your frustration..My Honda Oddy gets 9mpg....No one knows why

I actually average 21 miles in the city but I live not even 2 miles from my job so as quick as I start my car I turn it off!! I have actually averaged 32.8 on Hwy though!

I've got 7K on my 2.5 sl sedan. MPG on strictly hwy is 32.8 to 33.1. My in town back and forth to work is 25.5 to 26.1. This is calculated from the DIC, manual calculated is about 1 (one) mpg less on both hwy and local mpg. I'm good with that.

With 19" rims (245/35/19) my 07 2.5 sedan averaged about 18-20 mpg. With stock rims, averaged about 22-24 in the city driving. 7k miles right now.

My 2.5 s has 16000 on it currently and it seems that over the last couple of weeks the mpg's have really gone up. After this weeks daily commute to/from work (mostly rural high way) the computer shows I am getting 36.5. Prior to this I was averaging 31-32 on winter tires, winter gas and colder temps. The daytime temps have gone up the last week or two to the upper 40's low 50's so I think this is the big difference. I guess I'll find out for sure as snow has returned to night so the temps are headed back down.

I hear ya, I have exactly 15999 km on my car right now and I avg. between 8.9-12.1 l/km according to the computer....that's the lowest and highest I can remember seeing...but most of my driving is on the highway...and I avg. around 9.2 - 10.5 l/km.....it's quite similar to our 2005 2.5 altima as well...

I am about a mile and a half from my job as well.....And I do maybe another 5 to7 cold start 1 mile trips from work

Never thought I'd be saying I wished I lived a little farther from work!! (get better mpg)

Great responses. my work commute is about 8miles but no highway. Maybe I should move or get a new job. lol
