I'm guessing the 2.5s 1/4 time be around mid 15s at 90 mph but wondering if anyone with a 2.5s been to the track yet?? if so what kind of time are you getting??

i'm not sure about the altima COUPE but i remember seeing that the 05-06 altima 2.5s stick shift gets a 16.2. it had the QR25 in it and had 170 HP (in California, 175 in the rest of America). so since the coupe doesn't have any more hp and it's not 1,000 pounds lighter or anything, i'd expect it to do about the same. maybe a 16.0 or MAYBE if a good driver had a STICK SHIFT they could get a 15.9.... mid 15's doesn't sound likely in my opinion. and if it's CVT expect mid to high 16's

just checked google and found this

http://forums.altimas.org/zerothread/336669

they said it gets 15.7 in the 1/4 mile but i don't know if thats for stick or CVT but probably stick. that's a really good time considering the last altima had the same HP and got a 16.2 with a stick shift

my 13.912 @ 99 MPH was with my exhaust unbolted lol right after the cat theres a flange and you just un bolt the 2 nuts and then pull the 2 pipes apart (use a flat head screw driver) and then just push the pipe to the side and it's an open down pipe. after you loosen it with an air gun it should only take 5-10 min to pull out the jack, lift the car, unbolt it, and lower it back down. it IS illegal on the street like that so only do it at the track. so technically i have $0 invested into it BUT it's not exactly stock lol i hit a 14.4 stock and a 14.2 with my catback exhaust hooked up.

what i do is attempt a burn out. step on the brake and gas both at the same time to build up revs, pull up the "E" brake, take your foot off the regular brake and you should get a little bit of wheel spin out of it (with the traction control off). then move up to where you're going to race. step on the brake and gas at the same time (with the "E" brake down, don't want to have the E brake still up when trying to race lol). then when the light turns green (or about to turn green) take your foot off of the brake while keeping your foot all the way on the gas pedal and just leave it in "D" until you get to the end of the track.

also one thing to keep in mind is the weather outside. that can completely change your times! i ran my car when it was 100 degrees out (with no muffler attached) and my best time was like a 14.6 or 14.7. then as it cooled my times kept dropping till i hit a 14.1 and then i ran out of gas. the 13.9 was when it was like 60 degrees out lol

i test drove a cvt 2.5 and really was impressed. After sharing a 2001 altima with my dad and a 2000 camry with my mom...the 2.5 has a really good feel to it. the stick should be even better. However, i don't think the 2.5 is a track car haha

Well, all I ever did with the mustangs was a pretend launch. Just rev at whatever launch speed is normal and dump the clutch, and open up. Smoking them a little warms them up and you're good to go.

Not real sure about fwd, and as far as my auto cvt goes, I'm sorry to say I don't have that low end torque and traction problems the manual guys complain about. It chirps and sticks even with VDC off, which is good I suppose.

Also there is a youtube video of a 2.5S doing a 0-60 time, and it looks like its about ~7.5 seconds http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ImAEqiXE50U

Curb weight(dist f/r) 3268 lb thats how much the 3.5se altima coupe weighs! how is the sentra that heavy? isn't it supposed to compete with the civic and the neon (when it was around) and both of those wars are waaay lighter.

but ya CVT can't burn out at the track, you just get a little chirp from the tires. stick shift on the other hand (3.5se people) i've heard has traction problems and burns out very easy at the track. if you want to do a good burn out with the stick shift. pull up the E brake, step on the clutch and rev it and when the RPMs go up, just take your foot off the clutch and keep on the gas a little

Ok i have the 2.5 and can do a burnout lol.....you can do a lil burnout/peelout by holding in the clutch and reving the car to liike 4000 rpms then let off the clutch and ur tires will spin....if u want more spin ghive it more gas and throw the ebrake on when u do it. ie dont recommend doin that bc u use so much of your tires.....ima make a video right b4 i get new tires n just burn em out to make a lil smoke well c how it works then prob wont b till next summer but w/e

I'm not sure if it's just me, but I'd like to see this kind of information Sticky'ed, possibly under FAQ? For common numbers like this, like the times for different combo's of engine and drivetrains all listed out, "common knowledge" for these cars, kinda like a small database!

Just a thought.

that actually sounds like a great idea. if i wasn't taking my car to the track often i'd be asking about 1/4 mile times and everything too. this should be a sticky
