Hey fellow AC's

It's been years since I've been on the forum. I'm trying to use the search but keep getting an error, due to the server or something.
My question is, have anyone experienced the OEM radio screen going out? Is there a fix for it besides replacing the entire HU?

Back story, I live in AZ and as you all know it's really hot during the summer. This issue has happened before a few summers ago, but never lasted long.
It started happening again last week, and would come back up normally after the car has had some time to cool, and restart the car.
But this morning, before it had a chance to get hot; the display would not turn on. The radio function's on the steering wheel still works, but no display.

Hope you guys have some good news for me! Thanks in advance.

Hung

I used to live in Phoenix. My friend had cassette tapes of all these punk rock mixes and custom stuff strewn all across his dashboard. It hit 120 something one afternoon and when we went to the truck after classes were over we noticed his dash looked really weird. They still looked like tapes, just bent or warped, but he picked on up and three more came with it! Most all had melted together into a few chunks of useless plastic! Anyway, heat messes stuff up. LCD and touch screens as well. I fear yours has been going out and may have finally bit the dust. For me, OEM unit would be replaced with an aftermarket stereo. Maybe someone else has actual Altima experience to share.

I ended up taking it apart and cleaned up two prongs that stick out to make connection from the board to the unit. Has been working since then, so I guess it was just dust.

I've been having the same issue with the radio display flickering for some time but it hasn't gone out yet. I discussed the issue with a technician at my local Nissan dealership and was told that this is a common problem and usually requires a new head unit. I notice the screen flickering when the car is hot from being parked in the sun; it doesn't usually happen in the morning or if I'm parked in a garage.

hungs, did you remove the display from the rest of the radio to clean the connections? Or the radio as a whole?
