2.5l rattles every 3secs then all the time after i give gas

ok i have an 04 2.5L there is a rattle out of the timing chain cover area but at idle it only rattles very shortly every 3 secs then when i hold the gas at around 2k to 3k it raddles constantly really bad, the oil light came on once for not even a whole second, hasn't since what do you think?
