Last time I filled up, I only got 22mpg. WTF, it's possible I got so low because my front tires were under-inflated. Also I've been getting about 480-500 miles till fillup. All that I changed on my car was the wheels, I have 18"s with 245/45/18 tires.

My computer says I get anywhere between 28-29mpg but by my calculations I get about 27mpg. I do probably about 65% or so of hwy driving tho

Mpg can vary a lot when you put new wheels on. Coop do you know how heavy your wheels are? A few l s makes a big difference when it comes to wheel weights.

It also depends on how hard you push it and if you do a lot of city driving.

Before I start moding my car I got around 29-31mpg 550 per tank but I was doing longer drives on hwys for work. Now I get around 21-23 mpg 400 per tank after mods with more city driving. Idk what to blame mods or city driving.

I drive a 2.5 with K&N intake, Nismo Exhaust, and 19' Rims. I saw my mileage always varies. Before mods,

First bought the car, 18mpgStopped driving crazy, 24mpg-28mpg62 mile commute, 30mpg (at 75mph)Trip to Vegas none stop, 35mpg (at 65mph)

After mods,

Started, 21mpgTown, 23mpg62 mile commute, 25mpg (at 80mph)

Total average = 25.4 mpg (before and after mods)

Best I can give you

28 - 30 mpg with stock wheels...I think they're a bit underinflated at the moment. Summer gas sucks here in ATL too, not sure about other places

Have got as low as 26.17 and as high as 29.57 MPG. I have been getting 27.5 to 28.5 MPG the last couple of fill ups. I have stock wheels and tires and I drive about 60% Highway. When I replace my wheels I am going to get 17’s with 50 series tires. This will keep the tire diameter about the same as stock. Will also keep down un-sprung weight. I will reduce the wheel well gap by lowering the car.

Tire sensors?

No when you change out your wheels and tires, if they are not the exact same diameter then your speedometer will be slightly off. And it doesnt re-calibrate itself.

Right now according to a tire size calculator speedo is reading about 3.4 percent slower than you are actually going. So when your speedo say 60mph your actually going 62mph.

http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

That could be why your mileage may be off. do a manual calculation of your mileage based on yourmileage reading and the amount of gas you put in on your next fill-up. it should be accurate.

My gauge has been on 23.7 MPG, all city mileage. I get about 420 miles a tank on an average.
