I have visited several dealerships recently and not seen any 3.5 models. There were quite a few 2.5s and in most colors. The sales person at one said they didn't get any. There also seem to be far fewer 3.5s on the street. Do 3.5s have to be ordered? Are they being sold at MSRP? They seem to hold their price better.

Does anyone know how many 3.5s vs 2.5s were made? Or, can at least provide a ratio - 25%, for example. Thanks.

The Altima Coupe was built to be a reliable aestethically pleasing coupe to compete with the Accord Coupe and Solara. 2.5S has better fuel economy and the "performance" isn't that over the top that makes it worth it for most people.

It's just the simple fact of better mileage and cheaper price. That's why you see way more V6 Mustangs, camaros, challengers, and chargers than their V8 counter parts. You can have the look of the more powerful more expensive version, but with better mileage and less $$.
