2.5 Stock Exhaust Question

ok i tried searching but i couldnt find my answer so...

does anyone know what the diameter of the stock exhaust is on the 2.5? I thought it was like 1" but can anyone confirm? also would a 2 1/2" piping lose too much back pressure for the 2.5?
