im gonna go with 3"anybody ever just have a muffler shop bend some 3" and throw a hi-flow on that? its a lot cheaper and has to perform fairly well.

make sure its "Mendral" bent, and not "crush" bent.

Mandrel, and yeah, crush bent not so good. It takes a high quality exhaust shop to do mandrel bends though. Apexi N1 is nice. : )

its just what it say's 'crush' so if you 'crush' bend a 3" pipe, whenever it 'bends' around something, it will be slightly crushed, causing you to not have 3" throughout anylonger, and causeing performance loss....

just a FWI thing....from what we have been looking at recently it seems the 3.5 altima is the exact same setup as the maxima...now the maxima puts out extra HP (10 i think).....looking under both cars last week, we found that Nissan crushed the exhaust right before the cat, on the altima, not on the maxima...so if its a fact the motors are the 'same', and they crush the exhaust a little so that the maxima maintains a higher HP rating, we found that quite interesting....(i understand it and all)...anyway, the stock Altima, just intake filter, and muffler, automatic transmission, ran a 15.0 at the last event, LOL, we are going to switch the exhaust and get those bends out of it, and we think it will be just as fast, if not faster than the maxima with the exact same setup....so the crush exhaust does make a difference....

we'll see what happens

anybody seen actual dynos of the two stock cars?ive seen a few a supposed stock alti's that had nearly identical fwhp as stock max's. ill see if i can find those again....

it makes sense though, why tell us that the altima is better, its costs less, has nearly the same power, a better suspension, and is a better performer. max sales would really be hurtin then..

apexi n-1 is one of the greatest exhausts for the sr20det throw in a down pipe and high flow cat and you got yourself a sweet package
