Just bored, so i thought i'd make a thread about 2.5's intakes =)

Well i personally own a K&N and it's proven to give 6Hp, before i install my exhaust i can hear noticeable sound coming from the intake but now not so much, but i guess it's only normal... well anyways just wanted to see some feedbacks of what you guys have on ur intake system.

Pretty much intake are all the same right...? Just a tube and a filter?

So i was browsing around on takeda that their intake adds 9hp, and injen sp got a intake for the 2.5 as well... Anyone here owns one of these babies?

when you say that "it's proven to give 6HP", where is that info from? manufacturers will often give out the numbers that they have charts to show, but in reality i understand that intakes don't give much extra actual hp. i'm waiting on racingline to come out with theirs

I have the Takeda, sounds more throaty than the OEM. As far as HP, it might add a couple but only way to tell is to dyno it.

Honestly, putting an intake on a 2.5 is pretty much only giving you sound. I've got the K&N and it sounds beasty but i dont think it added any power. It feels faster because of the sound the intake gives off and of course because my leadfoot got a whole lot heavier :rotfl , but theres never going to be a day/night difference on a 2.5
Just my two cents

Takeda on mine, I'm getting better MPG with it (most likely because I don't use as much gas since I listen for the sound to tell me when I'm accelerating too quickly from red lights).

Doubt it gives anything noticeable in horse power; but I don't care cause it sounds cool.
