2.5 CVT unconnected hose?

I was looking in my engine compartment and saw this small hose that wasn't connected at one end. It curves downward in a U shape. Doesn't look like there is anywhere it was connected. Is this some sort of breather hose for the CVT or crankcase?Took a picture but it's not very clear.

Is it made of metal?

No. It's rubber. I can't really see where the other end is connected but it feels like it's about six inches long and connects to a metal tube.

I have a 6MT and there is a similar hose for the transmission. Its a breather hose for the 6MT. Not sure about the CVT.

I'd have to see it in person. Ive got nothing....

Hmmmm. I assume it's a breather hose. Could someone with a 2.5 CVT sneak a peak in their engine compartment and see if this is standard? It's between the air intake and the engine cover about six inches down. Black rubber "U'-shaped hose. Thanks.
