I hate to say it but I doubt there is any modfications that can be done to the CVT (I'm a Rogue CVT owner by the way, had lots of problems early on, did lots of research). The Nissan service techs can't even work on them because they don't have the specialized equipment necessary that only Nissan manufacturing plants have. One reason is the equipment is very expensive and the other is that it requires specialized training. Apparently when they build these things the pre-load torque required is very high - not sure exactly if that refers to the installation of the CVT steel belt or what specifically but the bottom line is that the CVT is a highly precise and unique piece of equipment that very few people have knowledge of.
So my reason for posting is out of concern for you, if you happen to run into someone at a local transmission shop for example who claims that they can do marvelous things to your CVT, don't believe them. Even if he's a "transmission guy" he won't have experience with a CVT, not even Nissan techs can rebuild these units, and he'd probably end up doing serious damage and your new 10 year CVT warranty would be voided and you'd be left with a $4 to $5000 bill to replace the thing - again no shop can rebuild them so you'd have to order a new one from the manufacturer.
