do you guys shift up or allow the car to do it by itself when using cvt? i drove my freinds is250 and discovered his cvt has to be shifted or else it wont go up by itself. what do you recommend for a 40 roll?

it means he took off the ALTIMA and 2.5S badge and it sometimes even means the NISSAN logo..... some people think it looks better and they debadge it (2.5s and 3.5se people)... i have mixed feelings about it so idk, maybe in the future ill do it...

just looked up the specs on the Lexus is250 (thought the 250 would win) but its a lot closer then i thought.... he has more hp then you but the same amount of torque as you and your car is lighter (i'd think since its a coupe and not a luxury 4 door).... my advice is race him from a dig (from a stop). just leave it in "D" and step on the brake and gas at the same time so your RPMS get up. when the light turns green or on the 3rd honk, let off the brake while keeping your foot all the way on the gas... my 3.5se launches at almost 3,000 RPMs when i do that and ive taken many cars off the line and kept going

yaaaaaa i hope he is because i'm going to be honest, i have a 3.5se CVT with a couple mods and i can tell you right now it doesnt throw you back hard.... only a stick shift or maybe blakes turbo CVT can throw you back in your seat.... ill admit my car has some pull but when you say throws you back in your seat hard, it makes me think of my friends 400+ HP stick shift mustang

My advice is DON'T DO THIS with the stepping on the brake and the gas at the same time. It would EAT your CVT transmission up and will brake it. I spoke to Tim at SpeedForce about doing this with my car to launch faster since I have the Turbo on now and he said not to do it because "You will brake your transmission." It makes sence to many people to do this, but our CVT's are wierd. I hope Tim does can do something to boost the performance of the CVT he has at his shop. . That's my .2 cents on that matter.

thats how every automatic car launches! if this is true then CVT officially sucks a** Tim, if you could please chime in and give us some more details on the matter it would be appreciated because ive launched my car like that about a 100 times and if it does mess up the transmission then my transmission should be going out anytime
