Does anyone know if the block off a Ka24e work with ka24de head?

i have been told it will but u need to change front covers

and its supposed to raise the compression too, to somewhere in the 10's or 11's cause of the piston design of the sohc.(depending on yr of block)

so the higher the compression the better, or the lower the compression the better?

for boost, you want a lower compression ratio. but if your going NA, you want a higher comp ratio

Sry to side track, but when it comes to DOHC are all years interchangeable?i.e. can a 93 ka24de head go on a 96 ha24de block?

should be, tho you have to change couple of things when going from 93 to 96, like front covers, valve cover, a plate that goes on the rear of the head....and intake/exhaust manifolds depending on which swap is being done.

what plate is that? I have the heads, and so far my only diff has been valve cover.

the upper front cover will leak if you put the 1 from a 95 into a 93(or viceversa), also the plate is at the back of the 93 head which holds some vacuum lines, it has a smaller 1(i believe) on the 95.
