2.3 Ford SVO Mustang engine into 240sx...

V8 240sx? Sure! If either the chassis OR the engine is non-Nissan (i.e. SR20 in an RX-7 or LS1 in a 240sx), we've done it.

Hey all I'm new here and I'm thinkngia bout getting a 240sx as a partial trade for my bike(if anyone is intereste din it..that is ). I have a built 2.3 Mustang making over 400rwhp...but it really need ALOT of body work and alot of brake work..so I'm thinking of finding another car to swap my awesomeness into. i think I have the engine moutn thing figured out...it looks pretty simple, and that would be the most irritating part I think..besides maybe adapting the power steering setup...do they make manual racks for the 240sx?

Thats all for now as I dont ahve a car or anything....

If anyone is intersted though I'm still trying to sell(for 6500 FIRM) get a 240SX+cash for my 2007 GSXR 600....

Blasphemy? Its more along the lines of I already have a 400+rwhp engine that is pretty reliable..so why start all over again?

I know these little 240s are supposed to handle well...and their lightness helps even in moderate drag racing...with sticky tires..which I understand are pretty good matches for the numer of relatively cheap rearend upgrades avaiable for these car....soudns like a win win situation to me...

Now I jsut gotta get me one..lol

Yeah just find a shell and have at it. If your donor car never came with an engine it's that much easier to do the swap and a lot easier to explain to everyone why you put a ford engine in a nissan.

"Well it didn't come with an engine and I had this one built already so..."

"Ahhhh, well that's cool. Nice car."

Throw in a LSD, yes, nissan rear ends are stout.

Electronics would be a handful, but with the right kno-how, should be a days work? That and the driveshaft would have to be custom *of course the mounts as well, but you said you got that taken care of?*

I have one, needs engine rebuild, but chassis is still firm. I'd love to boost the KA in it already. Maybe a complete rebuild is just what the doc ordered

If I do it I plan on taking all of the cars engie related wiring out..except maybe the guages..then just make some adaptor fittings for those sensors..or maybe (more likely) just a nice set of autometer guages(speedo etc.)Then jsut swap in my harness I have and jsut hook up power, ground, fuel pump power ..you know..those little things.and it should be a pretty clean swap that way.It loks like the s13 subframe is a "valley" style on liek mustangs and my mounts I have (custom) have a bunch of lateral adjustability..so I SHOULD be ok there.Drive shaf tis easy to get for an IRS car.Trans crossmember is easy too.Fuel system should be too hard...a return style system is a return style system...

Are the stock fuel lines big enough to support 400-500rwhp?The msot annoying thing will be the guages and fabbing up the exhaust all over again.

I watched a few video years back involving a turbo 2.3 in a LX. That car was pretty damn fast for a DIY turbo 4.

If it's built right the 2.3 will last forever and you'll have room for days while installing it.

Definitly a win win in my book.

I agree...great idea.

BTW, the Power Steering system will be very easy. Custom lines can be made for around $100 or less.
