doesnt seem like theres ever much talk on stroking the SR to a 2.2 liter.

Anyone have it? Was it worth it? How much did you end up spending?

don't stroke it. if you want a long stroke, just get a KA.

if you want to get an sr to 2.2L then sleeve it and bore it out to 90mm.

It would be much cheaper and easier to swap in a KA24DE and swap over your turbo and injectors and buy an SAFC or Enthalpy Rom Tune than to Bore and Stroke the SR.

Shoot youll even get MORE HP and MORE TQ with the KA. If you plan on going above 400WHP with the KA though, do a built block.

thats quite a blanket statement there. however, i am not going to start that debate. but one thing that can not be argued is that the KA will have significantly higher piston speeds which equals more heat and wear. Thats why I went with a bored sr22. (also because i don't like the timing chain design of the KA)

I too dont believe that the KA is a greeeaaaattt motor for turboing and making high hp. Most KAT setups i see dont last all that long and usually dont get run as hard as I run my ****. Not saying that I run my car abnormally hard but whatever.

Ive seen stroker kits for sale witch are ALOT of money and work but I know for a fact that it would destroy a KA. Sorry, its not up for debate right now and I dont want this to turn into another one of those retarded threads were everyones arguing about get a this or that. If I wanted a KA I wouldnt own 2 SRed cars so stfu and stay the **** out.

Back to the 2.2 idea, Karmakaze.... so you bored it out to 90mm over stock... 86mm? something like that? Im no engine builder and im trying to learn so really all info on how to do this, parts, and were to obtain them would be good.

BTW, i will not be building this myself, I will be assisting my friend who works for a respectable shop so that I can learn from the experience.

correct, i bored it out to 90mm from 86mm.

parts include90mm cometic head gasket90mm 9.0CR CP pistonsEagle RodsDarton Sleeves (you can not bore the stock sleeves this large)

also recommended:arp main studsarp head studs

labor was $400 to sleeve and bore it IIRC and parts were about $1400.

have you thought of going bigger or is 2.2 enough? How does it feel?

I see that Eagle rods and Crower rods are significantly different with price. Would you say the Eagle H-Beams do the trick?

Also, just outta curiousity what hp are you making with your setup with a few specs if you dont mind.

Thanks.
