My original intent was to take my altima's excellent shape drive train (engine rebuilt from crankshaft up at 185k miles, transmission rebuilt and 40k miles on it--transmission is from a 97 altima) and put it into the other altima that has a good body with a little bit of rust on it.
Well, I'm a college student. I don't have the time to be a grease monkey anymore, as much as I might wish to--and I certainly don't have the facilities to do the work in. A garage that you can't park your car in and work on isn't a garage.
I wouldn't be posting this, but I've absolutely freaking had it. Some jerk tried to steal the wheels off of my car (they are actually nice), and I don't have the time (finals coming up) to fix the damage caused from driving 200+ miles on two lug nuts on the front passenger side wheel.
I can vouch for the drive train in MY car, but I cannot vouch for the drivetrain in the extra parts car. Supposedly all that is wrong with the parts car (it wasn't running when I bought it) is that it needs a starter, and some new tires, as well as a full fluid change.
My engine has been well maintained. In the 118k to 185k miles, it was running Castrol 10w-40, from 185-200k it was running 10w-40 castrol and a quart of lucas, and for the last 25k miles, I've been putting 10w-40 mobil 1 synth with a qt of lucas. I finally figured out: Why the hell am I only putting part synth in my engine when I can go all out?
I run a K&N Air and Oil filter with these.New NGK Spark plugs, new battery, new plug wires, new ignition coil, new starter, new distributor, cap, and rotor, and I have two new 02 sensors that I haven't had the time to put on.
This car used to get me 42mpg if I ran it juuuust right. I've owned this car since 2001, and I'm tired of it. Basically, I'm asking you to take it off of my hands, along with all of the extra crap I've got for it (aftermarket spoiler, and other things along those lines) and you get the parts car with the deal---and nothing (save for maybe a starter--which I'm just not sure about) has been removed from the parts car.
The flip side of that. You have to come get them both, or arrange for shipping. If you've got an Altima 93-97 and you love it, and think you'll need parts. This is probably a non-passable deal.
I'm asking (and or begging) for $1500 for the whole shebang, you take care of shipping arrangements.
The reason the parts car is "free", is that that's the car with the good body. Mine has the good drivetrain. Strip mine down and throw it in the other one: Boom, good solid fraggin' car. Mine has so much body damage (though you can't tell at first glance) that its just sad.
Also, the below banner is a view of my car's current interior. I have fresh paint that matches the headliner/carpet more precisely that's just yours, as well as a little extra matching fabric for the visors.
