Id posted about the compression being low in cylinder #7 the tech told me that I had 65lbs in 7.the car had run great until at a stop sign one day it started the shudders.Id run some heat and injecter cleaner thru the tank and it seemed to have cured things but soon returned worse than before. well I finally got motivated and took the Q to the shop and ohmed the injectors.#7 was a dead injector. so after work mon. the injector was in and me and a friend of mine (hed changed 3 injectors in his Q already)started. Thanks to all the previous post and guides from everyone here on how to's,from ohming the injectors,to what to lube the O rings with. took us 8 hours to complete the job but its running great again.Id of never attempted this without Everyone here at NICO. I know that injectors are know to fail in pairs,so Im planning on the next replacement job now. saddest of all though, friend of mine that helped me,hed replaced the 02 sensors,3 injectors and done allot of basics, like cleaning his MAF sensor.told him about NICO after I met him.hes done alot of research here....had his Q running real good....well it was really cold here in K.C..he lives in a apt.complex with supposable security patrols.left his Q running and went back in.came out locked his door turned to go to work and watched two guys driving off really fast in his car.Im sick for him now that would really SUCK!!!!!!!!!

8 hours? You must have taken a break to watch a cricket match on TV. You're an expert now and the next pull will be much easier. You'll be done in less than 4 hours. Was the plenum removal (and reinstall) as hard as it's cracked up to be? Was it easier or harder than you thought? Any unplanned obstacles along the way?

Sorry about your buddy losing his Q. At least the thief had good taste. That should narrow the search. Hopefully it just got taken for a joy ride and will turn up intact.

Always good practice to lock the car when one leaves it running.

thanks paul wall-your Q is really looking good!personally Id go with brown to match the dash on your interior. If you decide to paint them, theres a plastic treatment made to treat plastic so it holds paint (the plastic parts) you can get it at a paint and body supply. keep your paint from flaking and chipping. your doing a REALLY GOOD JOB with your Q. Hows things goin mike? NO I didnt get any cricket matches in(ha ha) I had looked at that plenum several times and thought, youve never done anything like that...your gettin in a lil over your head...and the Q45s design can bring out MAJOR fears in someone without experience. The removal was nothing that I thought it was.I took my time each bolt, and watched things closly when we pulled the plenum.I didnt want anything falling into the intake. Im glad I had someone there with experience, the spacers would of dropped into the abiss.Id made the mistake of not having the hoses, and decide after seeing them and theyre condition that they'd have to be replaced.I had to go with aftermarket hoses(advanced auto ) other than that we really didnt have any problems. acually I was looking foreward to doing it again. Granted I have some mechanical skills, but it was rather simple to do you dont get into a hurry.fear was my only problem. much easier than I thought it would be. yeah its to bad about his Q...yeah the thief had good tastes

yes that would be AWESOME,one of us have video to capture the moment.I truly hate the fact he lost his Q...Hes a great, kind hearted guy...Id met this guy at his job local auto parts store hed seen my Q and started conversation.(Hes only 19 yrs old)I told him all about NICO and hed told me his mom owned a Q was having problems. Seen him several times since and hed acquired the Q from his mom(what a GREAT mom )Last time we talked told him about my Q and the problems.said hed had the same, offered to check it out with me.told me it was the exact same shudder his had.I ohmed the injectors and decided Id go back and see if he could get one. he locates one and then says hes off that next few days offered to help...took my number...I thought yeah right your gonna help me pull the plemun and all.so I said how much you gonna charge?he says on 25 bucks.I thought yeah right. so he calls me mon. morn says hey you wanna do that today?I was shocked.I said yeah meet me at 3 30.The guy showed up and then spent 8hrs goin through the job with me. picked up the injector for me and everything. hard to find people that are willing to help out. then he told me about his Q being stolden.I wanted to cry!!Gave him much more the 25$.. I really wish WE did have a crew here.....yeah maxnix...I didnt have the heart too say anything about good practices.I KNOW he will never make that mistake again.

Can someone recommend a thread or article on injector testing and replacement?
