Hey everyone,

I recently replaced the alternator in my 1996 300ZX AT. It appears the alternator is not charging the system and my brand new battery died while running the vehicle.

Could someone inspect my work on the alternator? I'm not sure if I installed it properly or wired everything correctly.

Here are some pictures - https://imgur.com/a/H4XM2ZC.

I also heard that this issue could be caused by a bad fusible link. I found what I think is the fusible link in a fuse box under the hood on the passenger side of the vehicle. I'm not sure if it's bad, but it looks okay to me. I included some pictures of the blue fusible link in the gallery too.

Thanks a ton to anyone that can help out. This is my first time trying to work on the 300ZX and I want to try to take care of it.

Your wiring diagram is on EL-35 here:

You can see the blue fusible link A both connects the main output terminal B and the field terminal S to the battery. If it's blown you'll definitely have no output. You could also have an issue at connector E33, if that's open or corroded you'll get almost no output because the regulator and field windings (S terninal) won't get current.
