With all the oil talk, can I use Mobil1? Some say yes, some say something else.

Welcome to NICO!

For the 1st oil change, anything is fine...no need for synthetic. I recommend using a couple of quarts of ester oil to help with cold startup chatter. I need to put on 600 miles to do my first one at 1k...

The next one at 3k should be a good synthetic (I use Royal Purple).
