I bought my car with a buckled hood (92 Q). I'm ready to replace it now before it flies off on the highway. Does anyone know of a place online or elsewhere where I could find a replacement hood in reasonable condition?

Check out http://www.car-part.com and do a search... http://www.autogator.com isn't bad either. Hopefully you'll get lucky and find one with the same paint code!

this is like finding a needle in a haystack. I found a couple, but I don't understand why they won't ship the hood. Has anybody else ran into this problem, if so what was the solution?

Please do a search on the forums on hood. Usually, the culprit is the hinges, as you will discover when you read the posts. The hood is designed to deform in crashes, so it is not stable when stressed. Thus shipping is a problem.

If you can't find a suitable one in a yard near you (you didn't say what year), try online at an autosalvage place. http://www.autogator.com has been good for some members.

Otherwise, you must get a new one, and new hinges also, most likely.

Does anyone know if carbon fiber hoods are made for the Q?
