So I got a 1G DSM BOV but im having some problems. Its running like *** first off, idle all messed up, bogs hard on the low end, stalls when I pull the car out of gear, running super rich, etc. I have yet to run a vac test on the thing but I plan to very soon. But I was wondering if this BOV has to be resurced to work properly. I know some stock valves let out some air at idle and was wondering if these do too. If anyone is using this bov, are you resurcing or just releasing into the atmosphere? If your blowing off into the atmosphere are you having any problems? THX

It must be crushed or recirculated.

Recirculate it, it leaks at idle.

I never had a problem with mine and it was crushed also.

Crushing will allow the valve to remain closed. :DDoing so will also allow it to hold more boost.

Yup, it holds up to around 21-22 psi crushed.

I think they might open during vacuum which would cause un regulated air from getting into your engine. Dont quote me on this.

LOL, thats sooo true Notch

I plan to get rid of this bov though... The thing makes too many noises and I would feel better using something I didnt have to crush to hold boost. I plan on just forking out the cash and getting a HKS soon.

I hate the surging noise sooo much... Every time I push the car hard I think about that noise and what it could be doing to my poor little baby T25. Hehehe

Awww, at stock boost it's not that big of a deal. I ran mine for 8 months w/o a BOV on it. When I pulled it out there was no shaft play and it spun pretty nicely. Somebody on here has it now, I don't remember who though....

You can't hurt the T25 no more than it's already hurt. These engines cam BOVless from factory and this is the way they intended it to be. I drove around @12psi and it sounded evil.

My friends loved it. They're not real familiar with turbo's so they didn't know it wasn't nessicarily a good sound, but they were always asking me to "make it make that 'woosh' sound". One stupid ricer thought my transmission was going out. I just had to shake my head to that one...
